Help to an Arsenic-Affected Hydrocephalic Child

Young Sunil Rajbar was suffering from hydrocephalus, a condition in young children often seen in the villages we serve. Sunil and his mother are shown in this photo taken in our Parasi office.
Sunil is recuperating from shunt surgery (to correct the problem). Today you see him holding up his head without assistance from his mother. He's active and alert. And, although he developed several topical infections they have healed nicely.

Both his mother and father are very conscientious in regards to his health. Because there is no local phone where they live, they walk 3 kilometers to our Parasi office if Sunil develops a fever or skin infection.
Following the last checkup in September, the doctor felt that Sunil was not getting enough nutrients, as his mother was only breast feeding him. (Most women in the Terai nurse children through their 5th birthday.) Since September, Sunil has been given vitamin and protein supplements and is eating solids.
